YouTube embed and Firefox

Jun 10, 2016

HI Everyone,

I've looked for this issue on the discussion boards but can't find this issue.

I've noticed that when I embed a video in Storyline 2 using a web object and then publish to Moodle. Users of Chrome and IE get a perfect sizing of the video when they watch.

However, when they view the same presentation in Firefox the sizing is off.

I know there is an issue with HTML5, but wouldn't Firefox got to Flash first?

Not a huge issue, but I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong or perhaps there is a setting I'm not quite getting right or perhaps there is a simple workaround.

See images below.

Many thanks,

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

Firefox as a browser has disabled Flash by default, although you can override it as detailed here. Since we don't support Firefox and HTML5, it may be a part of the issue you're seeing.

You may also want to confirm it's not an element of Moodle changing the video and look at testing it out in SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing SCORM content. This article will walk you through testing in that environment as well.
