YouTube Videos, Bb and SCORM
Jun 11, 2016
Hello,
I have a slide that asks the user to click on an image which launches them to a YouTube video and then asks them to share their insights in a text box.
When I upload my published file to Bb, my YouTube Video opens but hides the slide and the text box which means the user can't enter a response in text box. I've published with "open in current browser" and "open in new browser". Neither approach is working for me. How do I fix this?
Thank you!
Holly

Hi Holly. How have you inserted the video? Also, if you are using Storyline2 please check you have the latest version (help menu, check for updates). Hope this helps.
Thanks helping Ankit. Attached is an example.

Thanks Steven. I'll check.

Hi Holly!
I took a peek at your file and it appears that you had a regular text box, as opposed to a data entry box, which would not allow your learner to type in it. I've updated your file.
Here is a tutorial as well.
Thank you Leslie!
No problem Holly! Glad to be able to assist.
Hi Leslie,
Just so you know, the slide still doesn’t work in Blackboard. The external website launches and the ability to go back and enter content in the essay box doesn’t exist.
Thank you.

Hi Holly!
Is this something that you can follow up with your Blackboard team about?
It seems to work when I test published:

Yes, I will Leslie. I tried my slide within Bb with a variety of settings and I'm still not getting it to work correctly.
One last question: I’ve created around 6 online modules for my organizational behavior class. I have about 8 more to create. I find myself using the same tools, partly out of convenience but also out of ignorance. How would you suggest I seek feedback on a few of my slides? I'd love to learn a different approach to what I'm trying to accomplish as well as how to design my slides to be more appealing. Thank you for your help!

Hi Holly!
You could ask for some user/community feedback over in our Building Better Courses forum. There are many more design-related questions over there as well as our Community Managers and I'm sure that someone would be able to take a peek and offer some guidance.
You may want to consider taking a peek at or even join some of our E-Learning Challenges as well to expand your use of the software.
