I inserted a YouTube web page (http://www.youtube.com/user/AARPDriverSafetyHelp) as a web object in a Storyline course. But after publishing when I view that slide and it gets to the web page it just turns into a white screen. This is viewing the course off a web server - not locally. Any thoughts on why that might be? Thanks!
I can't be entirely sure about this one as I haven't tested it, but this might be Google blocking Iframe views of their sites - same thing happens if you point to www.google.com.
You might want to try adding your YouTube video into your course using the Insert Video tool and see if it meets your needs. Take a look at the following tutorial and in particular the section on Adding a Video from a Website. It talks specifically about YouTube videos.
I have seen that tutorial before. I used that technique to insert a YouTube video and it did not work because as the previous post indicated it's a problem with Google blocking Iframe views of their sites. I guess that's true for the regular web page as well as the video. So is there any kind of workaround to allow YouTube content to be inserted into a Storyline course?
First, you might want to make sure that the YouTube video isn't restricted. If that's the case, it probably won't work with any site/course.
An alternative is to use a Storyline screen recording of the YouTube video in your project. However, make sure you have permission from the owner of the video to do this. It may take a little extra time, but it should work out pretty well, if you're allowed to use the video in your project.
