Zoom region being fully realized in single-slide preview, but not in entire scene/project preview or publishing

Jun 18, 2018

I am experiencing an issue having to do with the zoom region:

When I preview the animations of a slide, the system zooms all the way into the region specified, but when I preview an entire scene or the project holistically, the system zooms only a fraction of the way toward the full zoom region. The latter issue also occurs when I publish the file.

How may I address this issue? And thank you very much, in advance!

Hey Alyssa,

  • I'm using Storyline 360 v3.16.15842.0
  • This is happening on all slides with a zoom region.
  • I would absolutely be willing to share a sample of my file, but being that it contains confidential client information, I'm not certain this is the most secure channel. Is there a different, more private way I could send it to you?

Thanks for sending over your file, Ryan. I'm definitely seeing how the zoom region is not fully realized when previewing an entire scene, and it appears this issue is related to the Modern Player. The same problem isn't happening when I switched to the Classic Player.

I'm going to get this in front of my team so we can begin looking into a fix. As soon as I hear something more, I'll let you know. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention, and I'm really sorry for the headaches it's causing you!

Great news, Ryan!

As promised, we're back to share that Update 27 for Storyline 360 is live: This release includes a fix for the issue with the Modern Player where zoom regions would not zoom in fully and appear slightly off-center.

To see all the enhancements this version has to offer, follow these steps to update your software. Let us know what you think!
