We will ship Studio '12 this calendar year. We haven't announced a more specific date yet. Will keep you posted.

My organization has approved the purchase for Articulate Studio; however, now that Studio 12 is on its way we really want the newest version. How long would be our wait? If we purchase 9 now, will there be a "deal" to upgrade to 12?

Yes, upgrades are typically 50% the cost of the full version. Even cheaper if you get PMP.

Is Studio 12 is just a add-on to PowerPoint or this is like a separate software?

I can import PPT file in it but can I publish PPT from this?

These are big questions for me because right now I made changes in PPT file and share it with my client for verification before publishing. However, if it is not exporting PPT file, then my client also needs to buy the software. I am using Articulate from last 1.5 yrs. All the branding and set templates will ruin if it does not support the previous version.

Please confirm.

RE:

Articulate Studio ’12 features industry-leading Section 508 support, making it widely accessible to all of your learners. Now, learners with screen readers can easily access your course content.

Any more information about how compliant Studio'12 will be?  Sudio'09 said that it was compliant with exceptions - the exceptions being that you couldn't navigate from page 1.  Accessibility is a big deal, since all eLearning developed for the US Govt/Federal Agencies is required to be Section 508 compliant.

Hi, Dan -

The new version of Studio will use a player and assembly similar to the Storyline output. Accessibility is improved significantly over Presenter and while it's not perfect, there are methods that can be used to improve the experience for those with disabilities. You might want to give Storyline's output a try to see if it works for your client's requirements.

Thanks Steve.

We tested Storyline's output for Section 508 compliance and it was deemed unaccessible in its current state. Besides waiting for a Storyline update to fix those issues -  I was hoping that Studio'12 would be useable without having to create a separate alternate version of the training, like we have had to do in the past.

Hi Dan.

Can you please submit a case outlining the specific areas where you feel that Storyline is not 508 compliant and provide an example file? Also, were you vieiwng the Flash output, not HTML5 or mobile? Check out this article for more details about Storyline 508 compliance.
