Hi Gail - We posted this page for an overview on Studio '13 features. We'll update the page as we have more information around release dates and pricing/upgrade options.
Hi, thank you for responding. My company has Studio 9 licenses and we are considering augmenting with stand-alone software to do much of what will be available with Studio 13 release. So narrowing down the timeframe in 2013 to Q1 or Q2 would be very helpful to our decision-making now. Also, knowing whether there will be a cost associated with the upgrade will help with budgeting.
We can take this discussion off-line if there is a contact I can talk with - thank you!
Can I make a cheeky request - if it's cheeky at all!?
When Studio '13 is released please can it retain the 'toggle view' button that allows a user to switch between standard, no slidebar and slide only view? Having slide only or no sidebar is great for presenting certain material like video etc. as it can create a more focussed environment.
From the pictures I've seen in your promo it looks like it's going to have Storyline skin functionality without this feature :-(
If there's anything that you'd like to see be a part of our forthcoming products, the best way to let our development team know that it's important to you, is through a feature request. Thanks for your feedback
Hello We here at Air Canada are also awaiting Studio '12...'13.
We have purchased Storyline as we have a dire need to develop for iPad. However we do not want to republish all our content in storyline, as once in storyline we cannot bring it back to Presenter/ PPT.
I am currently working on Objectives for 2013 and a date would be most beneficial, as we are trying not too, but may be forced due to time constraints to move to a Captivate Product which is currently readily available.
We cannot offer a time frame for any feature enhancements or future release dates. If you would like to be the first to know about updates and product releases, I would encourage you to subscribe to Gabe Anderson's blog. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
We’re working diligently to get the Studio '13 products ready for beta testing in early 2013 —and are now actively recruiting beta testers. If you’d like to be considered for the beta program, please send me a PM for more information. Thanks!
When your promo says video for HTML5 does that include MP4?

I purchased several licenses for Studio9 in early 2012 as part of a federal grant. I managed to squeeze the cost of the Platinum membership out of the grant so the "Studio12 upgrade" would be covered...after all it was already 2012 so I was being a good steward of grant funds. Now it looks like release of the newly renamed "Studeo13" will probably not be released by April 16...the day the Platinum membership expires.
We'll be stuck because the grant cannot cover another Platinum upgrade. To say the least...I feel like we've been hoodwinked by Articulate. I realize that software development has its unknowns, but really Articulate, this is a bit of a marketing morass on your part.

Hi Paula, welcome!
I want to assure you that your PMP will not expire until Studio '13 releases and you've had a chance to redeem your upgrade for Studio '13 - regardless of when we release it. Please feel welcome to contact an Articulate representative to learn more about your PMP benefits.
I'm trying to decide which software to purchase. I've been holding out for Studio 13 and considering Storyline, but the no release date on 13 and 12 never getting released are making me question if we should just change to another product. We have needs to get our courses into html5 and multiple platform compatible. What is the right decision to make?
I agree with Blaine who posted last week. We need a release date and price as we have been waiting for AS 13 for ages and we have to budget and make decisions! AS '13 is a much better fit for us than Storyline. This is holding up our course development big time. Articulate guys, please tell us something besides "it will be ready when it's ready." That's not a good business approach for keeping loyal customers. Tom K still rocks though.
I'm sorry we can't give you an exact date for Studio '13's official release. It has to do with wanting to release a finely-tuned product with the kind of refinement that requires a beta period. And we’re working diligently to get the Studio '13 products ready for beta testing. It'll be a phased beta rollout with Articulate Quizmaker '13 rolling out in the next few weeks. Articulate Engage '13 and Articulate Presenter '13 will follow thereafter.
I hope that helps give you a somewhat better idea of what to expect, and I understand and empathize with your budgeting deadlines.
Peter, how well can we expect Studio '13 to convert Studio '09 content? I'm anticipating that this will simply require a republishing effort of the original PPT/PPTX files from within '13. Safe assumption?
Without having much personal knowledge of the process yet, I'd think it would work very similarly, if not identically, to the import features included in Storyline. And then, of course, a publish to whichever output you prefer.
Thanks for your reply, Peter. I would also like to be added as a Beta tester if slots are available. I have been asked to participate (and have done so) as a Beta tester for Lectora and Camtasia products so am well-versed in the requirements and expectations of various technology products.
Please include me as a beta tester also if you have available positions. We're keen to get going with getting our content for HTML5 and we would like to contribute in any way we can to getting Articulate '13 tested and ready as soon as possible.
My co-workers and I would also like to be a part of the beta testing process, if possible. We were Storyline beta testers here, and are happy to do it again!

Hi Gail,
Articulate will only ever say "When it's ready" - which is reasonable enough I feel....
I'll let the sales guys be more specific on licenses, but I suspect you will need to upgrade , as it is going to be a completely different beast.
Welcome.
Bruce

John, .
Status will still be the same - there are never updates or teasers.
Articulate will release it when they feel it is ready, at some point in 2013.
Bruce
Gail,
My opinion - for sure there will be a cost for upgrading.
This not a softwer as service, that you get the upgrade built-in.
When buying a software once in a few years - you will always pay.
And my guess the payment will be considerable amount of the full price, if an upgrade will be avilable at all.
