When published, can a slide play audio added through PowerPoint? Or does ALL audio have to be imported or added through the Articulate tab?
I have two audio files for one slide. One audio (narration) I imported through the Articulate tab; the other (background music) I added through PowerPoint that sincs with my animation. When I publish the slide, the narration plays, but the backgroud music I added through PowerPoint does not. However, when I just preview the slide, both play--seems that the problem occurs when I publish.
Any suggestions?

Hi Sarah,
You can't have audio that plays both in Articulate and through PowerPoint. The Articulate audio will take precedence. However, you can add background music to your presentation by creating a playlist:

Awesome!! Thanks, Brian. :)
Brian--Should I be able to hear those playlists when I press Preview? Or do i have to Pulbish it to hear them?
I've created new playlists and added them to slides through the Slide Properties, but when I try to sync my animations with the playlists, the playlists don't sound when I try to sync my animation.
Playlists can't be synced to your animations so you won't be able to hear them when using the Sync Animations feature. If you needed to have the narration and the background music synced with your animation, you would need to use a 3rd party tool like Audacity to combine the audio, mix the levels and then export as a WAV file. The disadvantage to this would be if you needed the background audio to play through multiple slides as there wouldn't be a smooth transition between slides.
Thanks, Justin! I do have Audacity already--I think I might go that route.
Justin--Is there a way to preview a playlist before clicking Publish? Or are playlists heard only in the final, published product?
Hi Sarah,
You can associate a playlist with each slide by going into Slide Properties & selecting your playlist from the Audio Playlist column. Then, after clicking the OK button, you can Preview a slide. If a playlist is associated with the slides you're previewing, then the playlist will play.
Does that helpl?
Brian,
I created a Playlist and assigned it to a range of slides. Later I went back removed the playlist from one slide within that range. In the SLide Properties it shows that the playlist is no longer associated with that individual slide. However, when I preview it from the Player.html file, the playlist still plays. Is there something I am missing when trying to remove the playlist from a single slide like this?
Hi Curtis,
Can you try actually publishing the presentation to see if that resolves the issue?
Yes. It is still present even after publishing.
Hi Curtis,
