Articulate Community Roadshows in 2014
Dec 03, 2013
Just wanted to share that we’re looking at doing some Articulate Community Roadshows in 2014. We hope to make it a fun, practical, hands-on type extension of our online community. We’re picturing a two-day event with two tracks each day that would include a range of topics around general elearning, visual design, interactivity and of course some sessions specifically related to the Articulate tools.
Although nothing has been finalized yet, here are some tentative locations and time frames.

We’re looking for your feedback. What topics are you most interested in? Is there anyone you would like to see present? Would you like to be a presenter yourself? Any other feedback or suggestions?
I look forward to your responses and hope to see you there!

I would be interested but am based in the UK sadly...
Unless you have a blog update on how the events work out. That would be interesting..

Poor Colorado. :(
Poor Canada!
Love to see you when you come to Austin. Anything I can do to help?
You should come to Vancouver instead of Seattle! But, I might be persuaded to make the trip across the border. PM me.
Not a single stop in Canada (I guess the thinking is that Boston and Seattle are 'close enough') or Europe?? I might go to Boston.
Mike: If not this time, it'd be cool if you eventually swung out to Colorado. Denver/Boulder in particular.
One more thought: This may just be semantics, but I'd be much more interested in a attending a 'User Conference'. To me a 'Roadshow' implies that product evangelists bombard an audience with scripted demos for a day, and then everybody picks up their toad bag and goes home.
I agree with Michael on semantics.
Not sure I could attend any of those, with the exception of Austin. Obviously you guys can't go everywhere, but it would be nice to see some additional central locations for those of us in the fly over states.
I'm excited this could be a reality and saddened that my potential travel budget for 2014 will be exhausted attending ASTD's TechKnowledge in January, THOUGH, I could probably BEG my way to the Austin roadshow or push for Atlanta since it is further away. Heck, if the price was manageable, I'd pay for it myself.
And I also agree with the "roadshow" concept. For many of us, we're already sold. We bought in hook, line and sinker...and tell anyone who will listen about the product; however, I'd like to learn more advanced techniques at something like a "user conference."
For those going to ASTD's TechKnowledge in January, I'm conducting a couple Storyline Creation Stations. Nothing like the roadshows and only 90 minute sessions, but if you're looking for some cool hacks and tips, stop by and set a spell.
Guess I'll be flying to Boston then...
@Nicholas I do expect there will be a few blog posts about how these go. 8-)
@Michael I get your drift on the wording and we want this to be very much a hands-on, practical application type experience.
As for other cities/countries we hope to get there too but you gotta start somewhere right? 8-)
I guess I will try to make it to Philly one... Let me know what I can do.
Thinking about topics, are there any that you guys feel are essential and must be included in the lineup?
What about speakers?
When we hosted Articulate Live '09, we had presenters like Cliff Atkinson, Cathy Moore, Ray Jimenez, and Patti Shank host amazing sessions. Our MVPs were a huge part of the event and led hands-on sessions.
So the sky's the limit... for now, at least. Who would you like to see at the roadshows?
Appears to be the "Ring of Fire" with the central U.S. not part of this Roadshow.
I'm in Memphis metro and Atlanta is closest, but Austin is just an hour from my grandbabies.
I'll plan for Austin.
@Kevin I'll be at TechKnowledge and will come find your station!
@David Cathy Moore for sure! I LOVE her scenario building.
Kevin, I didn't know you were in Memphis - too bad I was just there last week.
Just a few additional details:
Tom, that's great news about the Canadian dates! If I can help in any way, PM me.
Wahoo! San Diego will be great as it is close. Lot's of things to see such as SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, etc.
Plus, it's usually 75-80 degrees!
PS, I agree with Michael and I do hope it's more of a hands-on user conference.
That is excellent news. If in UK, then, might be a good plan to go to Birmingham or Manchester rather than just going to London which might seem to be the obvious choice.
I'll agree with Bruce on Birmingham or Manchester as a better choice than London for a UK Articulate Roadshow.
Both are more accessible than London.
Nicholas
I would echo Birmingham or Manchester
Great to hear Boston! Would be happy to try and help if you want to PM me.
Might be nice to see different tracks, one for those new to elearning and Articulate products and one for those who are looking for some advanced ideas or ways to use the programs that we haven't considered.
Cathy Moore would be the bomb!
