a QUIET keyboard???
Oct 29, 2012
I know this is a little off-topic, but you all are so great about advice on laptops and other hardware, I figured maybe someone has some keyboard advice. I use a wireless keyboard when I’m at my desk, and need a new one. I have a Logitech and it’s really nice, but it’s sooooooo noisy. If I close my eyes while I’m working I’d swear I was on an old Selectric typewriter, clacking away. It drives me crazy. And it’s a huge problem when I’m on a call and trying to take notes.
I want a keyboard that is like my laptop keyboard – almost silentt (and I like the way the keys feel – but really, at this point, I don’t care about that, I just want something quiet).
Any suggestions? I’ve been to a few local stores, no luck – hoping you all can steer me in the right direction!

Hi, Sheila:
My mac wireless keyboard works quite well. Has a good feel. Not silent, but not loud either. (You wouldn't hear it on a call.) I can buy them at my local Best Buy store, I know. And of course, the Apple store.
You can use them on Window machines, if you download some stuff. Here's a link http://www.redmondpie.com/use-apple-wireless-keyboard-on-windows-with-full-functionality-using-apple-wireless-keyboard-helper/
Daniel, thank you! I am not an Apple user, so it never even occurred to me to look at their keyboards, but I will definitely head over to the Apple store this week and check it out!
Hi Sheila,
Most silent I can think of would have no mechanical keys at all...
Laser-generated Virtual Keyboard
Hope this helps,

That is SO cool. Have you actually used this? I'm wondering if it would be hard to get used to... i have a hard time with touch devices generally.
Have not... Saw it a while back and have been aching to try it. Can't find one around my way to try out.
If you do.... PLEASE let me know what your impressions are.
