I typically create Articulate projects on my desk computer at my office. Sometimes I work from home on my laptop and would like to access my projects from there. Are all Articulate projects limited to the device they are created on or can I access them across multiple devices? If yes, how do I do that?
You should be able to install on 2 computers. I have 360 on my work PC and on my home Laptop. To share files back and forth, I set up an empty Rise course to act as a briefcase. When I want to continue working on a file from home, I'll attach it to the rise course as an attachment. When I get home, I download it, work on it and then edit the attachment to the latest version. When I'm back in the office, I can now download and work on the version with my home edits.
That does help some. How do you handle managing Storyline projects on two devices? It would be helpful if projects were linked to the user and not the device.
Hi Kelly! As Owen mentioned, you can install Articulate software on two computers, such as a home computer and a work computer. Storyline 360 is a desktop app, so to work on a .story file on your other computer, you have a few options:
Email the file to yourself
Save the file to a shared drive like Dropbox or Google Drive (If you don't have access to these, you can use Owen's creative workaround)
Save the file to a flash drive
Either way, you'll want to always move the project file to your local hard drive before opening it. This will help ensure it runs smoothly.
I'm back! I am currently working on a course in Rise on my computer at home and will be working from the office for a week. Is there a way to access my Rise course on my office computer? Both are desktop - no laptop. Is there a way to save/export the course to a hard drive?
As Rise is entirely web-based, and all courses are stored centrally, you can access your Rise courses from anywhere as long as you have an Internet connection.
Rise courses cannot be saved to a hard drive in an editable format.

Are you using 360?
Yes, we use the 360 suite of products. Mostly Storyline, Review, and Rise.

Does that make sense? Does it help?

I pass the .story file back and forth through Rise. It works great.
Keep in mind, I only do this because I can access Review 360 from my office but places like google files, drop box etc are all blocked by firewall.

Let me know if that helps!

Yes, I figured that out after a little more thought; it was late, and I was starting to panic.
Thanks for your reply.
