Hi Stephen! Can you explain a bit more or share your story file so I can know exactly what you're trying to do and point you to any resources that might help.
Hi Sarah, in PPT the animation can be set "on click" but i dont see that option in Storyline 360. For example, on one of my slides it shows a screenshot of a software application we use. I want to show the user where to click in order to reach a certain screen. I was planning on having the user click the mouse and have a box appear around where to click first and some accompanying text. Then the user clicks again for the next box to show where to click next, and so on.
What i've ended up doing was to create numbered buttons for them to click with triggers. This works for what i am trying to do and honestly, maybe the better choice. However, is it possible to do it the way i originally wanted?
You should be able to accomplish this any one of several ways.
Using states On click -> change the state of the next thing from hidden to normal
Using layers On click -> show layer with the next thing on it. The next thing might even have an animation with it based on the layer's timeline
Using motion paths to bring items on to the screen On Click -> move hot spot and text from off screen on to the canvas in the right spot.
Using cue points, pause timeline and resume timeline triggers Add cue points where you want the user to interact Pause timeline when the playhead reaches the cue point Resume the timeline when the user interacts
...and I'm sure there are even more. Storyline is super versatile.
