I'm a newb trying out some ideas for training and want to use lightbox slides over a video. Is this the same thing as creating a layer or are lightboxes something different?
Great, thanks. I was struggling to find any information about how to add them. I didn't realize they were integrated into the trigger list!. Should the second slide be a slide or a layer or does it matter?
After creating what you suggested, I can't get the lightbox to pop up. I set a trigger (by timeline time and by cue) on the timeline. Then I tried setting one on a button. No go. Ideas?
Also, if you preview the slide, you'll not get the lightbox to work. You need to preview the scene or everything so that the lightbox slide is also rendered.

Lightbox triggers link to slides that overlay the current slide.
Try it out. Create two slides. On one slide add a button with a trigger to lightbox the other slide. You'll see how it works.
They're good to use when you don't want the person to leave the current slide, but want to make content available from a different slide.

Hi Judy
the trigger would be to a slide - see this tutorial and here and here are youtube videos that might help explain it as well.
Wow! Thank you.

Can you share the file or a screen shot of the trigger?

Hi Judy
is the lightbox slide in the same scene? If not you'll need to preview the entire project.
We recently hosted a weekly challenge on lightbox slides. Check it out: https://community.articulate.com/articles/lightbox-slides-in-elearning/
Thanks.
