Articulate freezing at slide preceding a slide containing video

Apr 14, 2015

I have experienced an issue where learners report that the eLearning freezes and won't move forward. It is random. Doesn't seem to be particularly related to bandwith. The only common factor I can find is that the elearning freezes on a slide preceding a slide which contains a video link from YouTube - and the video is often on a layer.

Is this a known issue - I have found some conversation strings but wondered if anyone has any resolutions.

Perhaps put the youtube video on a separate slide giving the user the option to view the new slide or open the youtube URL in a browser. You can use the URL from the embed code on youtube meaning the video plays in full screen without the youtube web site showing (see screen shot). Giving the user options is good when getting intermittent performance results.

I've had issues with videos on slides before and it was directly related to bandwidth and machine spec.  Also, FYI Articulate pre-loads slides 1, 2 and 3.  So you may want to avoid heavy content on those slides.
