Articulate Quiz answers in LMS

May 09, 2014

Hi all,

I have a general question about Articulate quizzes and how they work in an LMS.
At the moment, I am working with Articulate '09 (but we will be switching to
Storyline soon I think!). Now, let's say I build a quiz which consists of true
and false questions, fill in the blank etc using the Articulate Quizmaker, publish
it as a SCORM file and then upload it to any competent LMS,let's say CrossKnowledge
which we are thinking of migrating to (soon!), if I complete this as a learner etc
would the adminsistrator be able to see my actual answers. For example, if I selected
TRUE for the first question and got this RIGHT and entered the value "Paris" for the
fill in the blank question (which was "The capital of France is..."), would the administrator
be able to see these specifc answers on the LMS somehow?
Or would they just be able to see my score?
It seems with Articulate 2009, the only way for the assessor/administrator to see my answers
is by me as a learner emailing my answers to them!
Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Keith,

It depends on a variety of factors :

  • The SCORM version you are exporting to (1.2 or 2004)
  • The SCORM version your LMS supports (has to be the same version as the one you previously exported)
  • The reporting capabilities of your LMS

In general, SCORM 1.2 does not report answers in a meaningful way (only A,B,C and D's) but 2004 can.

Hope this helps,
Alex
