Audio and Podcast Equipment Guide
Jan 13, 2015
I just found a resource that might be of interest to folks looking for audio and recording equipment:
The article comes from Dan Benjamin who produces the 5by5 podcasting network.
What I really like about Dan's article is that he gives recommendations for entry-level equipment all the way up to studio-quality gear.
He also recorded a video tutorial on mic techniques:
Check it out and let me know what you think!

Thank You David!
Thanks, Danika! I really like the resources Dan's sharing. I have the Shure SM7b but I'm thinking about the Heil PR-40:-)
Nice find, David! I like his discussion of condenser vs dynamic mics and his equipment list.
I like that he includes info on live streaming, too. That would be a lot of fun. :)
Thanks, Jackie. I have both types of mics and find the dynamics work so much better for home office recording.
And totally agree re: the live streaming option. Thinking we need to play with that technology!
It never occurred to me to go with dynamic for the home office. What was I thinking?? Another fine excuse to buy more equipment. The full-on radio treatment with mic, mount, and arm would be great.
I'll bet Bert would volunteer to stream live from - well - pretty much anywhere. Maybe he'd put a little something together for spring break?
LOL for musicians it's always about buying new equipment!
The idea of a live "Bert Cam" makes me nervouscited.
