Badge awarding

Oct 16, 2015

I had an idea a couple weeks back, and I would like to find out if the idea I had was possible.

In most of my courses, there are evaluations using Quizmaker. These are courses are posted on Moodle as a SCORM package and the LMS tracks the results.

So my idea was based on the score they received, can different badges be issued. Think of the Olympics. If you score (and this is just an example so don't take these numbers to mean anything) 95-100%, you get the gold version of the badge, 90-95 will get you a silver, 85-90% copper, and 80-85% the black and white version. Anything less than 80% you would not pass the course and not receive anything.

If you went back through the course, then you would receive the badge for the best results you received. For example, if you took the course and received a 90% you would have received a silver version of the badge. If you retook it and received 100%, then the gold version would replace the silver version. Or you took the course and got a 90% the first time (receiving the silver) and the subsequent attempt you receive an 80%, you would keep the silver because it was better then the B&W version.

Am I crazy in thinking this could be done?
