Banking Games

Dec 11, 2012

Has anyone used any of the articulate products to build learning games related to banking? I am exploring the idea of building short 10 min games that can be used as Ice Breakers in classroom training. Any Ideas / suggestions for this?

I used Quizmaker to create a series of short games related to a systems training for a new hire class at a bank. I made the background look like a game show and purchased a game show "host" avatar to use throughout in different poses.

1. Name that Screen

A series of "short answer" questions with a screen shot and they needed to type in the name of the screen. There was a bank of 20 screens or so, but only 10 questions, so the quiz would be a little different each time. The quiz was also timed to give it a more competitive feel. Could be "Name that...anything". If you wanted, you could list the options on the slide as well so they have a list of options to choose from.

2. Who am I?

Again, this was the users guessing which screen was being described, but it could be any topic. I used the timeline to fade in one fact at a time, up to five facts, and the user had to guess which screen was being described before the last fact was revealed. Again, it was just short answer but used the timeline to slowly reveal the facts in a specific order.

3. Trivia

Multiple choice, very simple. With a timed element though, and good graphics to make it feel like a game, it can be competitive and fun. Again I used a bank of questions so it would be different each time.

4. I used the "group" option in quizmaker to build higher level scenario based interactions. The first question of the group was something along the lines of "Here is your situation, what screen would you use?". Once they got this right, the next question was "here's the screen, where would you enter the information?' and used the hotspot question type. Then the last question of the series was multiple choice, "what do you enter in this field?".  The layering question concept could work for just about any topic.
