I am working in Storyline 2 and am looking for a solution to ensure that my base layer objects are not showing up. My file has 8 text boxes and each text box is assigned a layer. Even though, I have hidden all the base layer, there are still base layer objects appearing. What is the correct setting to ensure this from not happening
Hi April, I thought of a really simple solution for you. Click the name of each layer, then click the little gear icon for settings. Then check off the check box that says, "Hide objects on base layer."
The other simple option is just to put a big white (or whatever color background you want) as the background to your layers. As a bonus, if you add a fade in transition to the box, it has the same effect as a fade out for your base layer.
Laurel-thank you so much for assistance. So, it looks like I have additional gremlins in this training. I have one slide where I want the learner to view all the content, so forced navigation. I created a True/False variable, but I am still having the base layer object showing up in the layer. Is there a way to simplify the triggers?
I had a look at your shared file and found the problem. The button error originates from the state changing trigger on the base layer. if you have the trigger, as it currently is, on the applicable layer, the error will persist.
You can mitigate the problem entirely by simply adding the state change trigger to the "return" button the respective layer.

Can you upload your Storyline file? Someone can likely take a look at it and help you out then.
Hi Laurel-thank you for your assistance. Please see attached file.

I will try that. Thank you Laurel for your assistance.
It is still not working.
I pulled out your 1.2 slide and stripped all of the triggers off of the base layer (except the triggers to show the layers) and it's working.
I think the error is tied to the extra triggers you had on the base layer.

Please see Slide 1.5, 1.6, 1.12
Good day April.

I have fixed slide 1.5 for you as a reference.
