Base Layer wont restart

Jan 20, 2016

I have a slide which shows layers when a user clicks an object.

On each layer a variable is set to change from false to true when user clicks the next button.

The user then returns to the base layer.

When all of the layers have been visited, a trigger jumps to the next slide providing all variables are true.

The problem is the base layer slide isnt playing ( unless I press play) so it fails to jump to the next slide.

On the base slide the settings are :

Slide advances : Automatically
When revisiting: resume saved state

Player features :player defaults

the layer settings are :
Visibility: Hide other slide layers
Allow seeking : automatically

base Layer : prevent the user from clicking on the base layer

Revisits When revisiting: resume saved state

Would anyone be able to help?

I've had a bit of a tinker.

I'm guessing you have a trigger on your base layer, along the lines of "jump to next slide when timeline starts, IF x,y,z variable = true."

I would suggest:

Add trigger "adjust variable = true when timeline starts" on each layer, but...

On each next button that hides the layer, add the trigger, "jump to next slide when user clicks "next button" on the condition that variable x,y,z = true."

The user can view the content in any order they like, layers will hide when next button is clicked and they will only jump to the next slide when all variables are true.

I hope I'm making sense.

Thank you

I will give it a go

Thanks Tim

To check that my variables were ok, I inserted a text box with NameofVariable %NameofVariable% . As the variables were changed these changes to NameofVariable %True or False%. I knew the variables were fine, as they changed as expected from false to true.

I also changed the slide to hide an object using 'true' conditions for the variables. I had already implemented your suggestion earlier today, but it still wouldn't work.

I spent all day with this and I finally managed to succeed by changing the slide and layer settings to these:

Slide setting:
[cid:image001.png@01D1539B.D3CABAD0]
Layer setting:

[cid:image002.png@01D1539B.D3CABAD0]

I think next time I have an issue, Ill look at the slide settings first

But I do appreciate your reply, and wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your support

Kind Regards

Lynn
