Best minor to choose for ID career

Nov 25, 2014

I am so excited to have found this incredible resource!  Currently, I'm a graphic/web designer and consultant and am going to school to obtain my Bachelor of Arts in Instructional Design.  I've narrowed down my minor choices to either Organizational Management or Psychology.  Organizational Management will improve my leadership skills, however, Psychology will improve my understanding behind human behavior.  Any recommendation on which minor would be of better use in ID world?

My goal for my degree is to create e-learning materials and also teach courses on how to design effective e-learning materials.

Thanks in advance!!

I'd lean in the psychology direction for the minor. This pairs well with human factors and user experience design. The project work and studies seem more likely to align with building and teaching elearning design.

However, depending on the program description, I wouldn't count out the organizational management angle. I suspect this is similar to organizational development focus that takes a more holistic systems approach to organization design. This big picture is a really helpful perspective to have.
