Just got a good question from a blog reader who was putting together her internal style guide for tutorials and job aids. She wanted to know if it was a standard practice to bold (Ctrl-B) keyboard shortcuts to make it easier for them to stand out.
It's a good question and I've seen a lot of different rules for when to bold attributes, buttons, software-specific commands, etc.
What do you think? Do you have a preference for what to bold in your technical training?
