Building a complex career reflection interaction.

Mar 18, 2020

Hi all,

I'm building a RISE360 course on intentional career development, and one thing I'd like to do is to have a reflection interaction included. I think I have to build it out in Storyline and use that as a block in the RISE course, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd like to give them a series of ~40 statements that they'll need to sort into "Not at all like me", "Somewhat like me", and "Very much like me" (I assume I can do this with a simple drag & drop).  There are no right/wrong answers.

I'd like then for all the statements they assigned to "Very much like me" to populate for them to rank the top 10 statements within those choices.

They'll fill in the  top 10 results in their participant workbooks when they get to this stage, so I have no need to figure out a way for them to print/save this information.

This may seem really simple to pros out there, but I've been fiddling around with different options for a few hours now and don't feel like I'm any further along! Does anyone have any hints or suggestions for where to start? File below to visually express what I'm trying to accomplish.

Thank you for any help you can give!

Hi Lindsey,

You could definitely build this out in Storyline 360 using freeform questions. Here's an article that talks about how those work: Adding Freeform Questions.

While there's no "print slides" option in Storyline 360, here's a discussion that talks about how to do it with JavaScript: Print ANYTHING in Storyline. Note that while that solution seems to work, it's not something we officially support.

I hope that helps! :)
