Button & Mouse over trigger
Jan 04, 2017
Hi all,
So, new to developing in Articulate and have run into my first little snag.
I have a standard Home page with a few buttons on it that takes the learner to a topic/scene when they click them - standard stuff
I have also set up the 'Mouse hover trigger' on each button on the home page that presents the learner with a image/text box as quick introduction to that topic before they click it. This works fine when you first visit the home page.
My problem occurs when I click one of the buttons, proceed through the topic/scene and return to the home page. The mouse hover image/text appears on the home page without the 'mouse hover' trigger being executed.
Is this something to do with my triggers, do I need to add another trigger or is it a timeline thing? Alternatively, have I confused everyone with my above explanation of the issue? Cheers in advance.

Hi Dean,
Sounds like you are right, more than likely an issue with your triggers.
Also would pay to look at changing your slide "when revisiting" setting to reset to initial state.
Cheers
Thanks Tristan,
I'll look into the triggers. (Gave up yesterday after looking at triggers all day).
Will try the 'reset to initial state' option but do have other triggers on the home page (completion ticks etc) that may be impacted.
Cheers for the advise.
Hi Dean,
If you attach the story file I will see if i can help you
Hi Julia,
Thanks for the offer but I may have worked it out.
I tried the 'reset to initial state' on the home page/slide but that kept replaying the home page launch animations each time a topic/scene was completed, plus it did not showing the completion (tick) graphic I had triggers for when a learner completed a topic.
What I did was, I set an additional trigger to have the introduction image/text set to hidden state each time the home page timeline starts.
So, have the 'Mouse Hover' trigger + the 'Hidden state (when timeline starts)' trigger, set on each object.
Thanks for the help.
