Can I import an Engage '13 interaction into Captivate 5.5?

Apr 28, 2014

My client is using Adobe Captivate 5.5 and I thought that my upgrade to Engage '13 would allow me to import my interactions into Captivate 5.5.  I've published out the file with no success. I've tried using older suggested techniques of renaming the Engage Content file to the name that Captivate renames the SWF but this also has not worked.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could use a third-party webpage widget like this one here, to display the published Engage '13 interaction inside CP 5.5.

Thanks, Michael.  Seems like a nice work-around.  I just tried it (without success), but will try digging a little deeper to see if I can figure out where the problem lies.  Anyway, I appreciate the suggestion.

Hm, I tried this earlier today and it worked for me. I simply connected the webpage widget to the interaction.html page in the Engage output folder.

Unfortunately, I'm about to pull out what little hair I have left.  I tried every permutation imaginable and could not get this to work.  I tried both IE and Chrome, latest versions.  I tried using local relative paths and absolute paths; I tried URLs and the file locations in my Engage output folder, but still was unable to get anything to display.  This seems like a great little widget but, unfortunately, without being able to get it to work, it remains dormant in my system.  I hope others have had more success than me.

I've done this before in the past from some instructions I found online using Captivate v4 and Articulate.  I haven't used this technique with anything other than Captivate v4 but I would assume the process is still the same and still functional.
