Cartoon "inserts" inside eLearning

Nov 22, 2013

Sometimes, you try...but the client just wants a more "traditional" approach (read "slide-based").

In those instances I am having great success with very short cartoon "inserts" brought as .mp4 files into a Storyline base.

I'm sharing some thoughts and concepts weekly over at the PowToon blog - http://www.powtoon.com/blog/online-corporate-training-tips-bruce-graham/.

Maybe these might help some of you out of the "slide rut".

Excellent stuff. Very informative and beautifully executed. So much information in just one minute. How many takes do you need to be word -perfect?

Thanks!

One usually...the benefits of scripting

I loved the challenge of Pecha Kucha (20 slides, 20 seconds each).

To create a microcourse in 60 seconds is a GREAT exercise in verbosity-reduction skills, and GREAT fun to do.

I think of it as akin to distilling - pretend I get £100 for each word I take out, and I find that I can re-arrange everything until I get "essence of voiceover".

The cider is kicking in - I should probably stop talking and being all ebullient now :)
