Click Interactions in Rise

Jun 08, 2018

We've recently built out a course in Rise and the main criticism that we're getting is too many clicks to advance through it - to start audio etc

Are there any articles on click interactions in learning? To me, having the learner click through Rise is a way to engage as long as the clicks aren't pointless. I just can't find any articles on this.

I don't think you'll find many articles on how many clicks is appropriate, but I do think you make the right observation about whether the clicking is superfluous or pointless.

There may be places to reduce some of the clicking. For example, converting a tabs/accordion interaction into a series of headers and lists is one way to eliminate the clicking.
