Comparing Articulate Studio Flash, HTML5, and Art. Mobile Player

Jan 20, 2014

We're working on publishing the files to HTML 5. We developed the files within Studio 13' - Articulate Presenter, Engage, Quizmaker. Will the newly published files to HTML5 be working on IE 10 & IE 11 on mobile devices (IPad and Android tablets) and computers? Or will they have the same issues as described in the post below:

Hi Olga!

The list of HTML5 features listed on that website have been tested with the browsers and device supported by Articulate which are:

Device: iPad

Browsers:

  • Google Chrome 14 or later on Windows or Mac
  • Safari 5.1 or later on Windows or Mac
  • Mobile Safari in Apple iOS 5.0 or later on iPad

Unfortunately, we do not support Android devices or Internet Explorer for HTML5 at this point in time. And as HTML5 is still a new and emerging standard, the different browsers are adapting at different rates. This means for your e-learning courses displayed in IE 10 and 11 you might run into some of limitations or issues listed on that page, and there might be others as well.

My advice for now is that you should regularly test your HTML5 output in those browsers to test out how it is looking and working throughout the development process. Hope this helps a bit!! Thanks!!
