Compressing PowerPoint Files

Jul 22, 2020

I have used very high resolution photos for a training deck that I want to bring into Articulate Storyline. I want to compress the slides before I bring them over.  Is there a setting that I should use?  I want it to still look good but currently the photos are making the files way too big.  Advice would be appreciated!

If they're in PowerPoint, you could unzip the PowerPoint file with a program like 7Zip (free). In the unzipped folder you'll find a media folder with all of the images.

From there you can do what you want with them. Another free program if you don't have one to do the compression/resizing is ImageTuner. You can play around with what works for you.

Import all the images via Media Library in Storyline and then you can place them on the slide.
