controlling Motion path position (origin) and control motion path end point using referenced Variable

Oct 21, 2019

Hi,

I think I am working on an idea that might be pushing Storyline to the limits.

I want to use a reference table to move the origin of a Motion path, and then use a second reference to move the end point of the same motion path.

what this will do is help to create an interactive graph.  any ideas?

I was just thinking about something similar to this the other day, but more like having a motion path converted to a dial type interaction, so it would have position variables for different defined points along the path. Or make it fully dragable along a path with continuous x,y coordinates as the variable, allowing triggers to be used with those x,y values.

A bit different, but I think those functions would also allow the variable to be manipulated as you might need.

I am currently trying to recreate an excellent moon phase simulation (https://ccnmtl.github.io/astro-simulations/lunar-phase-simulator/) that is javascript so I can have students test their knowledge by manipulating the moon position to answer given scenarios. This one is TOUGH.

I know this is not exactly what you were asking about, but a while ago I made a star chart, see here.

How do you get the background star chart image to be draggable both direction without limits? I might could use a similar interactions for my needs. Could you share the project file, or a sample file? Thank you for showing this Michael.
