Converting a single animated PPT slide w/audio as an MP4
Dec 11, 2014
In Presenter '09, the published output created individual SWF files that were self-contained little movies of each slide (containing all audio and animations for that slide). Storyline and Presenter '13 have different output formats, so that doesn't work anymore. And Presenter '09 and '13 cannot be installed simultaneously like Storyline 1 & 2.
So my question is does anyone know of software that can do this like Presenter '09 did?
If not, the only option I can think of is creating the slide as usual in Presenter '13, and then recording the playback of that slide with the audio as a video. But that's messy, time-consuming, and also risks losing quality in the graphics quality.
Anyone know of an easier way (other than downgrading back to Presenter '09, which isn't an option)?
Thanks in advance!

Great question Chris! I ran into this a few months back when I wanted to do the same thing in Presenter '13. What version of PPT are you on? In PPT 2013, you have the option to export as a movie. I'm not sure how far back PPT supports this.
Hi, Chris and Tim!
The movie-export capability also exists in PowerPoint 2010, but not in 2007, from what I can see. I've found that PPT 2010 exports very high-quality WMV files.
Thanks for confirming that Adele!
Thank you both - I'll have to test that out and see if it works the way I'd expect/need. :)
The PPT export as video won't work. It doesn't use the already incorporated timing and audio sync, and it's also only available to do the entire presentation (not a single slide or series of selected slides).
The search continues...
Having a product that does this and can export to MP4 sure would be a nice feature (hint, hint).
