Converting formative activities for online LMS

Nov 29, 2017

Hi All,

Im looking for some guidelines and ideas on how to adapt formative activities to be online friendly. The idea is to have the system mark these activities, which leaves little to no room for the essay type questions which demonstrate thought processes and understanding of material. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas around this process I would greatly appreciate your input.

Regards

Jess

Check out these ideas from Clark Quinn for automatically marked activities that require more thought. https://blog.learnlets.com/2017/11/tight-cycles-assessment/

  • Mini-scenarios (scenario-based multiple choice questions)
  • Branching scenarios
  • Choosing why you chose what you did
  • Have essay questions, but provide a model answer and a rubric so learners can evaluate themselves.
