course evaluation or consultation?

Feb 22, 2017

I'm at a small non-profit and am the only support for the 2 courses we currently have available through Articulate Online, built with SL2. One of our courses was recently added to some requirements for a large, statewide group of childcare providers who are on all kinds of platforms with varying degrees of computer literacy.

I'm finding that users are having several kinds of issues with both printing results and resuming the course, and feel like I'm out of my depth in trying to troubleshoot them. It's a small number of people compared to the total number using the course, but it's a lot for one person. We most likely need to revamp some things, but I don't know the best avenue to take.

Is there such a thing as course evaluation or consultation that an elearning professional/freelancer could do for us on a short term basis in a case like this? I'm looking for the best way to word it to post in the Job section. I'm just not sure if it's a "thing".

Any advice?

Thanks Jonathan. That's helpful.

I agree those are probably the culprits, although I'm not 100% sure. I updated our FAQ with the latest wave of calls & emails, but they persist. My time is an issue at this point, so I want an expert eye on it so I can get started down the right path and get back to my normal workload.

Hi Theresa,

It is a "thing", so no worries. :-)

Instead of IDs, you may want to look for E-learning Developers (key word) that also have meaningful Web Development chops.  The reason for the latter is that it typically includes knowledge or browsers, security settings, lite coding, etc that are required to troubleshoot and make sites work across a variety of platforms.

For example, resume issues can be a browser issue, an LMS issue, or a publishing issue. You want someone who knows a little something about all those worlds to figure out which.

Hope this helps!
