I uploaded a photo of a plant cell into an online jigsaw puzzle maker. Screengrabbed the result and used Photofiltre to clean up my newly created puzzle pieces. Then used Storyline drop and drag template to create puzzle game.
Appropriated our 2015 Guru, Phil's 30 sec clock timer to add a bit of drama.
Sharing the result in the hope that it will be useful to someone.
Hi Alphonso. I was scrolling through the forums and happened to stumble upon your post. Just wanted to thank you for sharing your idea with the community! It's quite clever and I love how you repurposed Phil's timer.
I just saw your post after Trina commented. Sorry we missed your very cool example. I really liked how you added the text entry question to the drag-and-drop activity. We're adding this one to our Examples Hub so keep an eye out for that:-)
I use an online programme to cut my cell pic up into 16 pieces. Then pulled it into Storyline. And of course, I appropriated Phil's 30 second timer to add a sense of drama.
Thank you Alphonso! This is great! I'm trying to do this same thing, but not understanding a part of your process. I found online jigsaw puzzle maker, but how do I get that part into Storyline and separate the pieces to create the drag and drop? I feel like I'm missing something.
Online puzzle maker takes your image and cuts it up into neat puzzle pieces. You then have to save each of these images and import then into storyline before using drop and drag template to create puzzle game. If my explanation too fast (or sketchy) contact me and I'll do a step by step video explanation of process.
May I ask which online puzzle maker you used? I found one but do not seem to have an option to save the images. Really think this will be helpful as an incentive/reward for students as they move through a module so thank you for posting!
Hey Robin I use http://www.jigsawplanet.com/?rc=play&pid=3e801b58f085. You must take a screenshot of each piece (you can't just save a piece directly as it is a flash interface I believe) and paste it into PowerPoint where you can make the background to transparent. Then save as an image and upload into Storyline.
