Creating a quiz with collated answers...

Jun 15, 2015

Hi.

I am wondering if  anybody can please help I am having trouble with one of my projects.

I want to create a quiz using Articulate storyline 2. I want 10 people to answer the same question and based on the answers I want a Coca Cola Bottle to fill. So if:

5 people answered A - see picture

3 People answered B- see picture

2 People answered C- - see picture

So rather give the answer we say how many people Said A…how many B… How many C.

I know that it can be done using variables but I just cant figure it out. :(

Can you please help.

Thanks,

Fiona

Hi Alison,

Thank you for your response. I want to be able to pass an ipad amongst a
group of 10 people and get them all to answer the same question at the end
I want the answers they give to be represented in a coke bottle so if 5
choose A then the coke bottle will fill half way if 2 chose B.... etc etc.

Do you understand?

Thank you so much for your help.
Kind Regards,
Fiona

Assuming you don't want to track it, it is easy enough to do using variables.

  • Assume you have a coke bottle image that has different states to show various levels of coke in it.
  • Create a variable to track clicks. A adds +1, B subtracts -1; that gives you a value for the variable
  • Then change the state of the coke bottle image based on the value of the variable

Hi Fiona,

As long as the learners are all using the same course and they don't restart the course, this should be doable. You'll just need to create 2 slides: 1 with the question and 1 with the results slide (coke bottles).

  • A numeric variable for each button (A, B, C)
  • A state for each "fill level" of the coke bottle
  • 2 triggers on each button:
    • 1 to add "1" to the corresponding numeric variable when the user clicks
    • 1 to change the state of the object to the fill level that is equal to the numeric variable

Let me know if you run into any issues when you try to do this in Storyline.
