Creating a Video based learning

Oct 26, 2020

Hi there, I am very new to Articulate 360 working at not for profit. We are considering putting our traditional public presentations into e.learning. This is a public event that is mostly facilitators speaking and then participants reflect in their own workbooks. There are no tests etc. The facilitators want to simply record most of the content and link it together with a few slides. Again, not really any learning activities, content only. We are interlacing this with a live Go To Webinar where we can break out into discussion groups but wanted to do some of the information session prior to the webinar.

Because this learning is external to our staff, it really isn't necessary to have scoring or tracking for that matter.

My thoughts are that it may be better served to simply create a video in lieu of e.learning on our LMS.  I would love to hear any suggestions. Thanks so much:)

Hi, Janet,

I agree with your thoughts. There's no good reason to make the learners log into your LMS to watch videos when you don't need to score or track that.

If there's some content to "link" the videos, that could be added as graphics at the end of one video or the beginning of the next. Or that info could be provided when you send the links to the videos prior to the webinar.

I sort of agree. However, having worked in the nonprofit sector for years, something tells me that down the line you will need to collect information and track score.

If you are involved in the process of them receiving the training, you will need information about it, and you will need to report that to someone, and you might need to account for who took the training and who didn't.

My suggestion is to look at is from a larger lens and what information you will need, and what is the best way of hosting it so that you can obtaining it. After all, one of the main purposes of using technology is the convenience of storing and managing all the information of and around the events.
