Creative brainstorm group?
Aug 02, 2019
Hello! I'm building quite a long course, and I'm finding that it really energizes me when I can brainstorm with other creatives or just anyone who's willing to throw out ideas on how to present content creatively.
My courses are about topics that are not always super fun to learn, so I'm using Storyline to bring engagement and interactive elements into the learning. I'm facing a lot of challenges with bullet point overwhelm and keeping things unique when I've already built out so much.
Does anyone have ideas on how I can find a small group of people to brainstorm with? Perhaps if we're both in the e-learning world, we can be mutually helpful?
It's also possible that I may just have to hire someone, but I wanted to see if this was an option first.

If you are interested, I would like to volunteer to brainstorm with you. We would have to align our timezones and meeting times, but if you are interested please let me know and we can arrange options like Zoom or some other tool for our meetings.
Hi Sheila! That is awesome! Thank you for volunteering. I'm going to send a private message through your profile.
Yes I'm interested in brainstorming too. I have the same issue with long courses and somewhat dry content. I have some ideas, but it would be great to bounce them around. That way they can only get better
Just wanted to pop in and thank you for posting this, Alina. I love seeing the community come together to lend a little brainstorming brainpower!
Hi, I'll be happy to participate in a brainstorming group. I work with a lot of compliance type training and agree that bouncing ideas off others doing similar work would be useful to all of us. I'm in Mountain Daylight Time, if you need to align timezones.
Yay! Thank you. Sent you a private message.
Thank you for the encouragement, Trina! :) This community rocks!
Hooray! Sent you a private message.
Add me to your list - creativity is a fun way to expand your mind and goals. So here is a small task to anyone who is interested in jumping into creativity. Add 2-3 lines to the the below story (yes, this is part of creativity). Think deBono.
"I was sitting on our red sofa in the living room, my arm resting on the top and my gaze was far off. I was looking past the opening into the dining room, looking at nothing specific, just the old blue wallpaper. My wife was across from me sitting on one of the chairs and she got up and came over to the sofa, the corner of the sofa and picked something off of the floor."
your turn to add some lines to the story...be creative.
Awesome! I shall also send you a message.
I've never heard of deBono! Looks interesting - I'm going to look into the book. Ok, I'll play!

"I've been looking for this for weeks!", she said. "I wonder how this just magically appeared in front of the sofa! Perhaps I just didn't notice it before, and it's been under my feet this whole time? Or, maybe our cat Boots has been carrying it around the house?"
"What is it?" I asked curiously.

I've never heard of deBono either. I'd like to play too if I can

"It is the antique salt shaker we got from your great Aunty Muriel. You know the one you don't like", she said.
"Oh great! Can we give it back to the cat? I dont think Aunty Muriel liked me very much. All the others got nice gifts and I got a salt shaker" I replied a little grumpy.
Next thing my wife made a sound of surprise and turned to look at me.
"Take a look at this. The bottom of the shaker has come off and see what is inside..."
