cue points between layers

Hi,

I am creating a screen which has a video on one layer, and closed captioning text boxes on another layer (allowing the user to display the closed captioning text if they do not have audio).

I want the cue points I am using for the closed captioning text boxes to align with the video layer - so the text appears at the same points in the video as the audio.

Currently when I watch the video and click on the closed captioning layer - this is what triggers that layers timeline to start - so depending on when I click the closed captioning layer, the text boxes may or may not align with the video layer.

I guess i'm trying to align the cue points from on layer to another.. any thoughts would be appreciated!
