Curriculum Design Templates

Sep 19, 2016

I am in charge of creating the elearning course, but not necessarily developing the content. Does anyone have a  template or great resource they utilize to ensure they are getting the necessary information from the curriculum writers? I just want to know how this looks in other companies and best practices. We are a small office, and the primary course design will fall within my job duties.

Hi Becky! I have a couple of suggestions for you.

Here's a list of questions you can use to interview a content expert:  https://community.articulate.com/download/project-kick-off-questions

That's a great way to make sure you're asking the fundamental questions right from the start. Once you're getting ready to start organizing an outline, using a storyboard template such as the ones you can find in our downloads hub (https://community.articulate.com/downloads/course-design/storyboards) will make it easier to map all your content and figure out what story you're telling from start to finish.

Hopefully other community members will pop in here to share their advice and insights!

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but typically as an e-learning developer, I receive a storyboard from the instructional designer. There was a challenge recently where people submitted their storyboard templates, and there are a lot of resources available by googling E-Learning storyboards.

Are you purely designing (graphics) and developing the e-learning, or are you also participating in the instructional design of the courses (determining instructional strategies, etc.)?
