Hi I am working on a project where I don't want learners to move from one section to the next until the previous section has been viewed. I am using one of the main menu templates from the content library. I have looked at several videos and looked at your instructions how to disable the buttons using variables but I still cant seem to get this to work.
I've set up a true/false variable for each section with default value false;
the variable will change to true when the user click the next button on the last slide of each module;
in the menu' I've set up the initial state of the "ovals" to disabled (you might want to change the color) and a trigger to change to normal when the variable change;
I am trying to mimic what you did in my module so I can make sure I know how to do it the next time. For some reason I cant get the module to advance to the next section the button stays disabled. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong. Here is my file.
looking at your file it seems that you're missing the triggers to change the value of the variable;
I had them on the last slide of each section, ...adjust variable when user clicks the "next button";
remember that trigger order matters, they are executed from the top to the bottom so you want to have the trigger that change the variable on top of the one who jump to next slide;
hope it helps, if not let me know and I'll send you a basic example to follow;

Sometimes I set a trigger to change the state of the NEXT button to Hidden until the timeline completes.
Thanks Sonya. This is the main menu slide that I don't want to advance, it does not have next and previous buttons.

Stefano, that is exactly what I meant. Thank you.
