Disable one item of the menu once visited

Mar 11, 2014

Hi there,

I'm building a course and the Menu on the left should contain various items, one of those is called "Activities".

Is there a way to disable that item of the Menu once its been visited? I mean, once the activities are done.

Thanks

Hi Beatriz,

First you'll want to go to the Player and un-check the Menu box, so it doesn't appear in the player. Then, create an actual Menu slide with all the sections of the course listed on some sort of clickable objects; they could be colored rectangles, pictures with text over them, whatever you want it to look like. I've attached an example of what I'm talking about, but there's really no limit to the different ways you can present the Menu. Once you get that set up, let me know, and I'll give you instructions on how to use triggers, states, and variables to make what you want happen with the Activities.

Hi Beatriz,

Once you get your Menu slide together, you can read my step-by-step instructions on how to make it work in my blog here:
http://dansweigert.wordpress.com/2014/03/10/hiding-the-quiz-until-the-end/

The only difference is, instead of starting with an inactive box/button, your Activities will start with an active link until they complete the Activities section, then it will become inactive. But all the same steps and principles in the blog apply to your situation.

Let me know if this works for you or if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Dan
