Do you know of any skill assessment that has already been created that can be used to test whether or not a developer has mastered basic skills for Storyline development?
I don't know of any existing assessments, but you could create your own.
You could have them respond to questions in a Storyline course or some other survey platform (Webmonkey, ProProfs, etc.). Or if they're on site, you could give them access to Storyline with instructions for building a simple course per your specifications.
I do not know of anything like this, but I see how it could be useful!
What would be even better, though, is looking at courses / interactions that the developer has created in the past. Do they function as desired? Are they glitchy in any way? Do they take advantage of a range of features? Etc.
If the developer doesn’t have any work to show, then I’d take that as a bit of a red flag.
We do the same as @Rene R mentioned. Ask them to build a specific interaction directly in SL and explain how it functions or document how they would deal with a specific requirement of the course we need built.
