Drag & Drop Question
Mar 04, 2014
Hi all,
I want to create a scenario using drag and drop in SL. Here's how I want it to work:
The user will see a number of thumbnails of leaflets on a desk. They will click a thumbnail to open a larger image of that leaflet (which will open a layer). That image has a close button which will hide that layer. Then, I want them to drag and drop certain leaflets into a drop area, which is an intray.
So far so good, and I've done all of the above.
The issue is that because of the trigger on the thumbnail image to open the layer with a larger image, after the user has drag and dropped the thumbnail to the target area, the layer opens again, but it has detected a click, even though the user has simply performed the drag and drop.
I'm reasonably sure there's a way around this, using exceptions in the trigger, but I can't get it to work. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Ryan
Sounds like an interesting project. You could set up some true/false variables for each of the leaflets e.g. 'leaflet-1-viewed'. Each time you view a leaflet, it sets the variable to true. You'd add a condition to each leaflet trigger - so it only shows the large image layer if 'leaflet-X-viewed' is 'false'.
Ah, of course! *slaps head*
That'll work perfectly! You know that thing when you get so wrapped up in trying to come up with a solution that you don't take a step back and see the simple solution? Yeah, that.
Thanks!
