Dumb question - How do you use Downloads?

Jul 29, 2013

So, say I love a thought bubble graphic in the "Downloads" section of E-Learning Heroes, and...  My dumb question is: How do I download and use it? What just happened was I selected to Download to "My Pictures" and a graphic showing all of the thought bubbles available appeared and then I had to crop to the one I wanted and re-size it (and it shows up with a white rectangle around it). Is there a better way to use these down-loadable tools? Does someone have actual step-by-steps for downloading and using these terrific design tools?

Thanks!

Hi there Sophie! Welcome to the community! Navigate to the object you'd like to download, and you'll see a "Download this file" link on the right-hand side of the screen.

Click on this and choose the location where you'd like to save the file. When you save one of the "Downloads" to your local computer, for example the "10 Hand Drawn square speech bubbles", it will save the file as a .zip folder. Save the .zip folder to "My Pictures" or to your desktop. Then, Unzip the folder by right-clicking on it and clicking "Extract All". When you open the unzipped folder, you'll find that there is an individual .PNG image file for each individual speech bubble. That way, you can easily insert the individual speech bubbles into your project. Hope this helps! =) Let me know if you need further help, I can record a quick screencast showing you how to do this.
