Awhile back I started this new series called E-Learning ABCs where I'm compiling a glossary of the most important keywords, concepts, themes, etc. related to e-learning.
Only problem is... I feel like it's slim pickings right now. I would love your ideas and suggestions on which terms I should include.
I teach an E-Learning Instructional Design Practicum at a local university. I created a glossary for the course. It is attached here. If you find any of the terminology useful, you're welcome to use my definitions. I recommend including the words "development" and "production" because my students mix them up a lot.
Hi John! Thanks for the tip... That's a pretty product-specific term (to Articulate Storyline), and the E-learning ABCs glossary is more intended for general terminology ... but maybe I need to create an Articulate Glossary as well. Thanks much for the suggestion :)
Hi David! That is awesome, thank you so much for your generosity in sharing that doc. There are definitely a few terms in there I could use! Thanks again!
I agree with David, but would still leave Tin Can as well. I still see that term a lot.
What about social learning, performance support, learning & performance ecosystem? And also ADDIE and SAM. These are terms that come hand in hand with eLearning.

I'm sure you will be adding acronyms since it's pretty much impossible to avoid them. If so these are the ones that come to mind...
LRS, LMS, SME, SSO, FTP, CRM, SCORM, HRIS....
Here are some other terms that come to mind...
Authoring tool, Tin Can API
I can't wait to see the compilation. Thank you David for your glossary.
"Tin Can API" is obsolete terminology. It's now called "Experience API" (xAPI).
