embedding you tube videos in a slide
May 19, 2016
Is there any way of embedding a you tube video in a slide ? I would prefer the user just to see the video I want them to see.
So far I've only been able to get the you tube video opening in a new browser tab, is there anyway of getting a you tube video to appear in the slide itself ?
Also the other problem I have is that I don't want you tube to follow on with other videos, I've tried using this code for a video on bacteria multiplication
https://youtu.be/zrx7Xg0gkQ4?autoplay=1&rel=0&fs=1&loop=1
I've used the add on code below after the ? mark.
auto play works ok
rel to stop related videos playing which doesn't work
loop doesn't work either
I'm using the following article for guidance :

Any help appreciated, thanks Altan

Hi there, Altan. As of May 2015, Google no longer allows YouTube videos to be embedded using "add a video from a website;" however, YouTube videos in existing courses will continue to work. You can still add YouTube videos to new projects as web objects, which are supported in Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player output.
The article you referenced deals with Storyline 1; we have this one for Storyline 2 "How to Add a YouTube video." I'm sorry for the confusion; I hope you weren't racking your brain.
Let me correct myself... in Storyline 2, you cannot add YouTube videos in this manner. But in Storyline 1, you will still have that ability!
Hi Crystal, now you mention it , I seem to recall this being the case on a course I attended last summer.
I'll look at the second article
Hi Crystal
I have included some of the optional parameters for YouTube Web Objects in my slide, but they do not appear to work. I'm trying to get my you tube video to loop and stop the automatic follow on to the next you tube video, using this code : rel=0&loop=1&playlist=video_id
But it doesn't work. I've copied from the tutorial, but cant work out why its not working, and wondered if you could help ?
