Emotional Design in Multimedia Learning

Mar 09, 2020

Hi All,

I am performing a research study investigating the effect of emotional design (specifically character graphics) on knowledge retention in multimedia learning.

I am currently collecting data via remote user test and I was hoping to get some help from the learning heroes! https://t.maze.design/8729449

The subject matter is about the symptoms of a panic attack and the entire test takes between 5-10 minutes and involves three stages:

1.       Demographic/screener questions, a positive affect scale (a measure of current positive emotional state), test of prior learning.

2.       A learning object providing a quick introduction to panic attacks and running you through the diagnosable symptoms.

3.       A second positive affect scale and a test of knowledge gained.

This prototype is part of an A/B test. The pre and post emotional states and  knowledge gained will be measured for both prototypes to prove/disprove the hypothesis. For the sake of not tainting the results of the A/B test I cannot specify what that hypothesis is unfortunately.

To those of you taking the test, I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks,

Andrew Short
