using Storyline 3 I have a flow chart that is too small to view (even with zoom) so thought I could use a `click to view` and attach a file to the slide for the user to open.

the file is emf. and corrupts when published.

will this work if I try changing the file format to gif, jpeg or wmf ?

thanks

I suggest attaching it as a PDF. I've done that with a lot of flow charts and never had a problem.

Caveat: I've only attached my PDFs to the player-level Resources, so the file is available throughout the course, as needed. But Storyline stores all attached files in the same location, so it should also work if the link is on the slide.

If you want to keep it as an image file, I suggest JPG or PNG, since those file types are easily opened by even simple imaging software.

I have buttons that open PDFs from within the course themselves. You can use the jump to URL/file trigger to open it up from a link or a button. Make sure to test it!

If it absolutely must be an image, remember that images must be below 2048x2048 pixels in Storyline. Vectors are best (EMF should work, try WMF if not) and if you must go to a non-vector format I'd recommend PNG. If you want them to PRINT though, definitely use a PDF and when creating the PDF, make sure that your images are print quality (150 dpi or above, preferably 300).
