enormous file size from videos
Sep 12, 2019
I have a course that i'm building that is MAMMOTH.
There are heaps of videos. I've just looked at the file size and it is 6G. So i need to reduce this obviously. The videos are an intergral part of the course.
They're hosted on Vimeo - shall I embed them? in the past when i've done this at the end of the video, rather than getting a blank screen, up comes our other videos that we host. We don't want the learner to be distracted.
Should I just reduce the resolution of the videos?
Thanks!

Embedding the video would be the best solution. It can save a LOT of time when publishing, uploading and even saving your project.
Here is something I would like to know: does your video activate triggers of any kind?
Hi, Kate:
Agreed, first find a compression setting in your video editing software that strikes the balance between size and quality, and then embed them. My company uses Sprout to host videos, but Vimeo, if that's your option, should work, too.
Hi - yes the state of some buttons are changed then the video completes.
so by embedding the video, the trigger will have to change i'm guessing
Can I also ask - I've removed the majority of the videos - leaving a few shorter/smaller ones but the file size is still humungous. (as in 2.8G) WHY?
As the attachment limit is 500MB I'm wayyyyy exceeding this! so I am unable to attach it - I guess I could zip it?
I've used Handbrake to reduce the size of mp4 files.
