error image with info boxes

Jul 20, 2020

I am currently doing a training course on information security.
We would like to include an "error image", where the user can click on an object in the image/move the mouse over it and then a small info box appears, in which the error is described in more detail. It should not be a classic hotspot interaction (user cannot select right or wrong, but only gets information about objects in the picture when he moves the mouse over them).

Are there already any templates that I could use for this?Especially for the info boxes about the objects .

Thanks for your help

To include multiple "error" areas in one photo, you can cover a given area with a shape that is transparent in its Normal state. Then add a Hover state to the shape, and put the info box in that state. As Nancy said, you could make this look however you want.

  • When you add the default Hover state, you don't have to add any triggers; the program automatically will show that state on mouse over and revert to the Normal state when the mouse leaves the area.

If you want the areas clickable instead, create a Selected state for shapes instead. Then put them all into a button set.

  • A button set automatically works like the  responses in a Multiple-Choice/Single-Response quiz question. Click a button, and that button is selected -- and the other buttons are automatically de-selected.
