Evaluating elearning resource
Jul 27, 2012
For those of you who are not members of the elearning guild, or who missed this, may want to check out: http://www.elearningguild.com/content.cfm?selection=doc.2388 - (Best of DevLearn) it's a recorded webinar that goes over a 7 step assessment process/checklist for elearning courses, which would be relevant to instructional designers or elearning developers. I thought it was pretty handy. Also comes with a nice set of handouts to download.
Happy Friday,

Thanks for sharing this, Holly. I'll definitely check it out!
I saw that webinar - it was really good! I am currently trying to encourage a couple of program managers who want some online training to look at catalogs of courses that we could purchase rather than build ourselves. This webinar outlined a nice structured way of how to look at and evaluate courses that are produced by others, which will be the things I can advise the program managers to think about when they are looking over some vendor courses.
I also really like the other handout the speaker had "How to Eat the Elephane: e-Project Management Basics". Do you happen to know if there is a recorded webinar that goes with that handout?
That's a great idea Melanie. One of his tips was to have a discussion as an organization/team to get agreement on what was most important for your organization.
But I don't know if there is a recording of the project management, you could maybe check out his website: http://overcomingpoopyelearning.com/ - I thought the name was a joke, but it isn't. Really intrigued by the e-series that are all "coming soon". One is the project management, so maybe contact him directly?
Great resource Holly, thanks for sharing it!
